Linkages Promoting Development: |
|
|
The South Centre, the Center of Concern, and the German Marshall Fund of the United States, are co-organizing the "Trade and Finance Linkages for Promoting Development: A North-South Policy Dialogue" on 20 October 2006, with the support of the Heinrich Boell Foundation, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Foundation, and the Forum for Environment and Development (Norway). This event will be held from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, at Room XXIV of the Palais des Nations, United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, on the above-indicated date. The Policy Dialogue seeks to open up the discussion to include development partners from developed countries and multilateral development agencies. This Dialogue intends to stimulate the generation by the participants of common ideas and fresh perspectives on how the trade and finance linkage could be approached and on the policy options and flexibilities that exist or may be needed by developing countries in order to promote their development objectives.
