Event Description The South Centre, the Institute for Agricultural and Trade Policy (IATP), ActionAid International Americas and the Social Hemispheric Alliance jointly organized an informal dialogue entitled "Agricultural issues in the context of trade negotiations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean". The purpose of this half-day event was to provide representatives from developing country delegations in Geneva, international organizations and non-governmental organizations with an opportunity to exchange information about the treatment of agricultural issues in trade negotiations between the EU, Latin America and the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP). Links will be made also with the ongoing WTO negotiations on agriculture.
Speakers in this seminar include academic experts from Costa Rica and Brazil, who will present a commentary on agricultural issues of interest for MERCOSUR and Central America in these negotiations.
