Photos: Workshop on Current Critical Challenges to the South: The Global Economic Crisis and Climate Change  

On 28 July 2009, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, the South Centre and the G77 and China held a joint workshop to discuss the current critical challenges to the South, focusing on the global financial crisis and the climate change, and the implications of these challenges to the development prospects of developing countries. At this workshop, senior experts and high-level speakers from developing countries shared their expertise and perspectives. The speakers also engaged in discussions with representatives of developing countries attending the workshop regarding such challenges.Various background papers by several speakers were circulated for the consideration of the participants.

Course on Multinational Economic Organizations for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, 17-21 October 2009, Teheran

On 17-21 October 2009, the South Centre participated in the Course on Multinational Economic Organizations for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran jointly organized by UNCTAD, South centre and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. The resource persons from the South Centre were Martin Khor and Offah Obale.
