Summary
The forum aims to provide opportunities for developing country delegates to be updated on cross-cutting IP negotiations and other processes in Geneva and elsewhere on a monthly basis. It is dedicated to reviewing and assessing recent international negotiations sessions, providing a holistic overview across different forums, to allow delegates to better coordinate positions on the subject of intellectual property in different multilateral organizations. This third forum provided an update of the developments in the following fora: (a) WIPO: PCT Union - Patent Cooperation Treaty Working Group: Second Session, 4-8 May, Geneva; (b) WIPO: Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR): Sixteenth Session, May 25 - May 29, 2009, Geneva; (c) WTO: Council for Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Council), 8-9 June, Geneva; (d) WCO: 3rd Informal Meeting on IP enforcement, 4 June, Brussels; (e) WHO: World Health Assembly (WHA), Geneva; and (f) UNFCCC: Thirtieth sessions of the UNFCCC Convention subsidiary bodies, Bonn; (g) FAO: 3rd Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, Tunis.
