Work Opportunities
Applications for employment are equally welcome from women and men. Persons wishing to apply for employment at the South Centre shall be nationals of a country member of the Group of 77 and China and be under the age of 62 years.
Vacancies are filled based on open competition and are advertised by means of vacancy notices and are also posted on the website as well as occasionally advertised in the press.
Internship Opportunities
Internship possibilities are as follows:
- A General internship requiring an uninterrupted and full time stay at the Centre for at least two months up to a maximum of six months. It may be applied for throughout the year, and may focus on any issue area under the South Centre Strategic Work Programme.
- A Trade for Development Internship of between three to six months on a full time basis. There are three main starting periods: January, May and September.
- An Intellectual Property Internship of at least six months duration on a full-time basis, focused on intellectual property issues. Internships may be applied for at any time of the year.
- A Global Governance for Development Internship of between three to six months on a full time basis. It may be applied for throughout the year on a rolling basis, although general start dates for internships are normally January, May and September.
French Translator Intern Vacancy
The Translation Unit of the South Centre is seeking to fill a non-remunerated part-time translation internship vacancy (one French translator) starting end of February 2013 for a minimum term of three months.
